Meet… Diane

Quality Engineer, PTM Corporation

Tell us a little about your role and key activities:
I am a Quality Engineer for Plant #2 Prototype at PTM Corporation.  I am responsible for the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) on new jobs, layouts, and work with tool makers on a daily basis.

What do you like best about your employer or job?
That it is a faith/family based company.  I have always enjoyed working at PTM. I have been employed here since 2005.

Have you ever left the region for work/career or thought about leaving?  If yes, what brought you back to St. Clair County or keeps you in the region?
I bought a house in Macomb County and lived there for a few years and then ended up moving back to St. Clair County.  I have lived in St. Clair County longer than not.

If you could give advice to a high school or college student about career or education choices.... or "I wish I had" moments, what would it be? Stick with it - get your degree!  I wish I had gone to college when I had the opportunity.

What is your favorite thing about living and/or working in St. Clair County?
I love the lake, it's so beautiful.  Also, St. John's Marsh is so amazing and full of wildlife, so cool to watch!  I like that we are in a small community and everyone is so involved.

What recent changes or improvements in St. Clair County are you most happy about?
This year there was a noticeable improvement during the winter with snow removal.  Our roads were really plowed in a timely manner, much safer travels.

Why should a job seeker consider making St. Clair County home for work and life?
Because for instance, St. Clair County isn't taxed for public transportation such as Smart Buses, etc.  St. Clair County is an absolutely beautiful place to live and there is a lot of accessibility to recreational areas, bike trails, state parks, boat launches and boating, etc.
