2024 Economic Impact Recap: Over 400 Jobs and $173.8 Million in St. Clair County Investments

The Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County hosted its Semi-Annual meeting on Thursday, February 20. Over 150 attendees listened to notable economic impact numbers shared from 2024. St. Clair County benefited from 468 total new jobs from attraction projects, community development and business expansions totaling $173.8 million in private investment in 2024.
"Last year, the EDA assisted 220 companies located across the county and this statistic does not even include small businesses that we counseled or trained,” said Dan Casey, CEO of the Economic Development Alliance (EDA). “Overall, 468 new jobs were created. That’s a lot of people and families impacted by our work.”
- Flash Steelworks (Attraction Project in Ira Township) - $9 Million Investment, 55 jobs
- The Beacon Group (Community Development in Marysville) - $2.5 Million Investment
- Parkview Properties Management (Community Development in Port Huron) - $2.7 Million Investment
- SEMCO Energy (Community Development in Marysville training facility and Port Huron Headquarters) - $407,000
- St. Clair County Community College (Community Development in Port Huron) - $1.5 Million
- Sweet Tooth of St. Clair (Community Development in City of St. Clair) – 3rd St. Clair County Small Business
- Immedipay (Entrepreneur of the Year) Software Technology platform to revolution health plans for businesses
- Pier One Polymers (Expansion/Retention in Marysville) - $3.4 Million, 16 jobs
- SABA North America (Expansion/Retention in City of St. Clair) - $4.2 Million, 5 new jobs
- US Farathane (Expansion/Retention in City of St. Clair) - $4.2 Million, 180 new jobs
"Economic Development is successful with a strong team of partners," says EDA's Vice President of Business Services Bruce Seymore. "The EDA, along with our community leaders and resource partners, will continue to work collaboratively to make St. Clair County a desirable location for business to grow and its residents to prosper."
