The Eastern Michigan Small Business Network (EM-SBN) is pleased to announce it has completed its second round of funding, awarding ten small businesses in St. Clair County with grants to support their growth and development.   Over 400 small businesses in the 6-county region applied for 2026 grant funding, including 185 St. Clair County companies.

“This year’s grant continues the progress of the Eastern Michigan Small Business Network toward creating the next generation of businesses in Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, and Tuscola Counties,” said Dan Casey, CEO of the Economic Development Alliance (EDA). “The results since the inception of this program in 2024 have been overwhelming and positive.”

“EDA created this program to generate regional impact by supporting companies that are still recovering from COVID-19 and poised to grow. Congratulations to the awardees.”

The 2026 Small Business grant program is being administered by the Economic Development Alliance (EDA) of St. Clair County, Michigan.  The EDA is working closely with participating Region 6 partners and key partners such as the MI-SBDC to successfully promote and administer this grant opportunity.

Companies that meet the Small Business Administration’s definition of a small business are eligible except for non-profits. Eligible expenses can include new equipment or furnishings, inventory, software purchases or upgrades, specialized consulting services, and training.
