St. Clair County, Michigan, celebrates over $1 billion in economic impact, 526 jobs and nearly 300 housing starts in 2019

The Economic Development Alliance celebrated the region's economic results and impact from 2019 with a crowd of stakeholders, economic partners and community leaders at its 2020 economic growth luncheon on Tuesday, February 11th at CityFlats.
In 2019, the local economy benefited from 526 news jobs, 282 housing starts and investments over $1 billion. St. Clair County businesses were thriving, hiring and growing in 2019. Twenty seven (27) local companies expanded with investments in machinery, facilities or workforce.
Community Development Investment: $54,524,180
Expansion Investment: $979,235,697
Attraction & New Business: $15,005,000
2019 Average Unemployment: 4.8%
Total Jobs: 526
During the EDA's five-year strategic plan for 2014-2019, nearly 3,000 jobs have been created.
The EDA's new three-year stratic plan for 2020-2022 will focus on 21st Century Talent, Developing Attractive Places, Supporting Next Generation Business and Telling our Region's Story (Business, People, Blue Water Assets).

- Mobility & Automotive
- Logistics & Transportation
- Power Generation & Distribution
