The Production Lead plays an important leadership role, working in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment and are responsible for overseeing production activities and also acts as primary QA interface by inspecting products and processes for conformity to specifications.

The Production Lead has dual role to oversee both production and Quality aspects of plant and to support the success of production employees by providing coaching and direction on daily work assignments. The Production Lead will also monitor performance in relation to the planned schedule and assigned targets. Variances to planned performance are noted and reviewed with the Plant Manager. They will be accountable for problem solving and making decisions as related to production & labor on their shift to meet assigned objectives.

The Production QC Lead will ensure quality of manufactured goods by performing inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished goods according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements. They will be responsible for performing various verifications including- quick visual inspections, perform complex tests using high precision instruments, gages and check fixtures, test measure and analyze products & perform sample testing. All results from performed inspections must be accurately documented as per Quality Management System.

  • Ensures proper utilization of labor/material and evaluates waste/scrap
  • Supervises material handlers to ensure that all materials and components are available as
  • Ensures a proper orientation of new hires and coordinates appropriate training and buddying system
  • Ensures to welcome, manage and complete all necessary tasks as related to temp/agency staff
  • Responsible for updating timesheets to ensure payroll accuracy and addressing any hours worked outside of assigned schedules prior to payroll deadlines
  • Ensures that the production reporting system is maintained and completed on time (Smart Attend, Prism and LPA)
  • Performs incoming, in-process, final inspections, product and process audits
  • Performs and documents accurate measurements and visual inspections as per Control Plan criteria
  • Records inspection or test data; calculates results; writes test or inspection reports
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions
  • Determines acceptability, identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures; initiate Non-Conformance Reports as required
  • Observes and reads instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions
  • Carries out written and verbal instructions to support quality processes
  • Collaborates with Shift Leaders and Quality Engineers to resolve quality
  • Ensures that quality system standards are maintained
  • Writes daily reports, issue Quality Alerts, Quality Evaluation Reports (QER’s), maintaining required logs, containment report
  • Co-ordinates cross-training activities/ensures compliance to the operations/instruction sheets/quality requirements and adherence to the quality systems and procedures
  • Ensures to follow internal policies and procedures per Quality System standard as related to materials, reporting and ERP system requirements
  • Takes appropriate actions/decisions to correct variances, issues and make improvements
  • Ensures that all products are manufactured to the highest quality standards
  • Maintains and promotes good housekeeping practices and 5S
  • Ensures compliance/enforcements of Axiom Plastics plant standards
  • Informs employees of known potential health hazards/risks and provides proper information/instructions as required
  • Responsible for performance reviews for Operators and coaching/mentoring
  • Follows correct escalation process as related to employee issues- collaborating with Human Resources/Production Manager/Plant Manager as required
  • Ensures to reprimand staff following internal disciplinary steps and documentation
  • Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Monitors/records employee performance as required and provides leadership/coaching
