Law and Public Safety Instructional Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. They provide support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in public safety or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid preferred.
- Related Associate's degree preferred.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Be able to lift 50lbs.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor.
- Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans.
- Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching, and reinforcing technical and academic content.
- Assist students in the development of personal management skills.
- Assist students in the transition from school to work.
- Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior, and special needs.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent.
- Assist with recruiting and promotional activities.
- Assist with student management activities.
- Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.
- Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students.
- Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, and SCCRESA Board of Education Policy Manual.
