Job Summary:
The 5-axis laser technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots 5-axis laser cutting systems, often utilizing CNC programming and advanced laser cutting techniques. They also assist in setup, calibration, and optimization of the machine for various materials and applications. This role requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of safety protocols.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Removes trimmed/cut parts from holding fixture and examines parts for defects and completeness of trim.
- Must obtain buyoff prior to initiating a full run of parts.
- Set up and operate according to specifications within target completion times.
- Perform some set-ups independently.
- Deburr parts as required.
- Weld fixtures together and dry run CAD programs.
- Safely and independently operate lasers.
- Coordinates with operators & supervision to maintain production schedule and run dates.
- Produces and required quantity of parts within established time, specifications, and tolerances.
- Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance parts; adjusts dies and controls of machine to correct times.
