Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across multiple locations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities can shine!

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose mechanical problems and execute repairs.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing.
  • Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members about equipment status.
  • Assist with equipment assembly or modifications to optimize operational performance.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics.
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer standards.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Experience with diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
  • Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when necessary.
