EDA Names Bruce Seymore II as New CEO Effective September 1, 2026

June 10, 2026

St. Clair County, Michigan – June 10, 2026

The Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County (EDA) EDA Board of Directors selected Bruce Seymore II as their new Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2026, at its June 9, 2026, meeting. Seymore will be succeeding Dan Casey, who is retiring after 15 years with the organization.

A resident of Fort Gratiot, Seymore has worked at the EDA for 16 years in various positions, Attraction Director, Business Development Manager, and currently the Vice President for Business Development. With over 20 years as an economic development professional, Seymore also worked at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a Business Development Manager covering multiple counties and serving as the account manager for General Motors’ Michigan operations.

“Working at the EDA for 16 years has been one of the great privileges of my career,” said Seymore. “Over that time and across more than two decades in economic development, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated colleagues, committed partners, and leaders in this community who care deeply about our shared future. This organization has always been about more than projects or metrics, it is about people, community, relationships, and long-term impact.

“I recognize the responsibility that comes with this role, and I accept it with humility, energy, and a clear sense of purpose. I am committed to building on the foundation the EDA Board, my predecessor, our team, and EDA members have helped create – continuing to support our existing businesses, growing our community development efforts, attracting quality investments, strengthening our workforce pipeline, and ensuring that growth is sustainable and benefits residents and communities across the county.”
