About the Team: This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health and safety programs and to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Assure that The Company complies with applicable federal and state health and safety laws and regulations.
What you can look forward to as an EHS Specialist:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safety Program, safety files, procedures, policies, and records in compliance with regulatory agencies requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data essential for effective safety programs, including OSHA filings, as well as other reports as required.
- Perform or assist with accident investigations as needed. Ensure that processes take necessary corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Communicate recommendations to all concerned parties promptly.
- Design, develop, and conduct safety training programs. Conduct program assessments to identify department program deficiencies. Coordinate and conduct work area assessment, surveys, and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions such as noise and chemical exposure, ergonomics, indoor air quality, light levels, confined space, and ventilation.
- Evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment.
- Assist departments with specific safety training needs by locating and scheduling outside training activities. Track training implementation and report status of training activities.
- Assist with the medical surveillance program to include required vaccinations and medical testing of employees as may be regulated by OSHA and other federal and state laws.
- Assist with various EHS related audits and inspections.
