About the Team: ZF Axle Drives Marysville, LLC, located in Marysville, Michigan, is a state-of-the-art facility specializing in the manufacturing of axle drives for Stellantis. The plant is known for its clean, climate-controlled environment, ensuring a comfortable workspace. The Controls Engineering team consists of eight dedicated professionals, including both Controls Engineers and Controls Technicians, working across 1st and 2nd shifts. This position, on the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, focuses on production support with opportunities for project work. Collaboration with maintenance, production, and IT teams is a key aspect of the role, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues that arise.
What you can look forward to as a Controls Technician:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise (lead, coordinate and facilitate troubleshooting) in the modification of hardware, software, electrical and power transmission control systems to improve safety, reliability and operational readiness of manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, and IT to modify programming and controls systems involving PLCs and PCs.
- Develop solutions and ensure the completion of long-term elimination of controls deficiencies; develop alternatives for controls equipment replacement, upgrade or program revisions that improve equipment performance and overall equipment reliability.
- Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facility, making recommendations and working with Operational Management to integrate solutions.
- Develop concepts and implement solutions for network and automation.
- Troubleshoot, plan, test, and coordinate the implementation of preventive actions in order to establish and verify stable production processes in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Monitor and improve performance of processes with respect to OEE, cycle time, uptime, and FTT.
- Required to participate in the training on all new technologies on machinery coming into the plant.
