This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of IAC as described below:

General Job Duties:

Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
  • Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
  • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments in all areas of your assigned department per the established procedures and work guidance.
  • Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
  • Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work according to 5s standards.
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA System and/or phone, business use only.
  • Maintain professionalism when representing the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

Specific Job Duties:

  • Ability to efficiently Troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical and Controls Downtime Events without compromising Safety. This includes MES/PLC Communication Systems.
  • Implement, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including and not limited to robotic programs, PLC (ladder logic), relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, multiple operator interfaces, hydraulics and pneumatics distribution control.
  • Ability to read Electrical Schematics
  • Knowledge of machine and plant networking solutions, including Basic LAN knowledge and functionality (TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of the integration of barcode scanners/cameras into PLC control systems.
  • Work with Equipment Vendors on new and existing equipment to verify conformance to IAC Standards
  • Integrate assembly verification/poke yoke systems into existing equipment.
  • Identify and Implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Update TPM System with work performed TTF and MTBF Tracking.
  • Establish machine process parameters on new tools/machines as well as make process adjustments within process tolerance on existing tools/machines. Take an active role in Continuing Improvement Initiatives
  • Continually monitor all processes related to machinery to ensure equipment is running at optimal efficiency (Jenoptik laser cutting, Urethane (soft foam molding), Waterjet, Vacform, Vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, Fanuc and ABB robotics, sonic welder etc.)
  • Participate in trouble shooting processing issues related to tooling, equipment and environmental factors (temp/humidity).
  • Assist in the set-up and start-up of new tools, new equipment and resins for trial
  • Assist with the set-up and maintenance of other equipment as required. Including but not limited waterjet, vac form, vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, robotics, sonic welder etc.
  • Assist machine operators and maintenance as required to troubleshoot
  • Responsible to regularly monitor parts produced conform to quality requirements. Typical requirements are communicated in QOS documents, such as; Process Monitoring Sheets, 1st piece ok, PFMEA and Control Plan
