The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of automation technologies, programming, and systems integration, ensuring that all solutions align with organizational goals and industry standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review incoming 3D CAD data from customers and evaluate for Manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop tool path 3D models in CENIT and output reliable 3D data that can be used to facilitate robot programs.
- Hold design reviews during development for manufacturing input to improve path(s) and robot cycle times and maintain close collaboration with the in-Plant Manufacturing Teams
- Model the tool path in a manufacturing cell by using customer and PTM 3D data.
- Provide a concise output of a file that can be used to reduce robot programming time.
- Use of the CENIT software to virtually prove out design concepts
- Reduce manufacturing floor cycle time
- Use of the CENIT software to improve other on campus tasks related to part picking, weld automation, sealer automation, etc.
- Understanding and use of Customer CAD data with weld, sealer, and hemming information.
