EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited college or university, in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, counseling or related behavioral science.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of the behavioral sciences.
- Progressively responsible child support enforcement experience preferred.
- Knowledge of family court procedures, practices and laws of domestic relations matters.
- Ability to counsel individuals and families with social and economic planning.
- Ability to gain cooperation and participation of potential participants.
- Ability to analyze participant issues that create barriers for non-payment of support.
- Ability to demonstrate investigative behavior methods of high-risk participants.
- Ability to research and identify services that would benefit the participant and the ACT program.
- Ability to exercise confidential information protection practices.
- Ability to diffuse confrontational clients and handle emotional situations.
- Ability to handle intense case monitoring, including carrying high case loads and frequent communications with interested parties.
- Must demonstrate ability to prioritize and show exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program, the court and agency partners.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, including but not limited to: Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Possess interviewing skills and investigative techniques for collecting, assimilating, and analyzing information.
- Possesses proven time management skills in a setting with minimal oversight and direction.
- Writing, reading, mathematical principles; proficient computer skills Microsoft Office, Outlook; exercise sound judgment and decision making in accordance with policies and procedures; ability to research and problem solve independently; knowledge of County operations and functions; ability to prioritize and time manage; handle stressful situations, provide effective and friendly customers service; support the County’s mission and values; ability to think critically when necessary.
- Knowledge or understanding of basic administrative tasks; operate standard office equipment; document management; prepare and maintain records, various correspondence and reports; answer general inquiries and refer as necessary; answer calls, process mail, order supplies and equipment; prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, record/transcribe/distribute minutes; entering, transcribing, recording, storing or maintaining information in written or electronic form with speed and accuracy; maintain calendars, arrange meetings, schedule rooms and equipment as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with management, co-workers and clients; obtain and communicate accurate information; apply common sense understanding to complex instructions and respond accordingly; communicate complex ideas through graphs, charts, presentations, reports or other professional correspondence.
