Contacting the Contracting Officer by Govology: his course reflects on the critical roles that the seller and the buyer have in contractual relationships within the US Federal government. For the Government (buyer), ONLY the Contracting Officer has the authority to change, amend, modify, or even cancel a properly executed contract. While this may not be true for a seller and non-Governmental buyers, it is true for the US Government. Accordingly, contacting a contracting officer must be purposeful, at least at first. There are times when a contracting officer may speak to you about a solicitation and the times when they can t. This course discusses such contact. In this course you will learn: How to identify the only person in the US Government that has the authority to change, modify, amend, or cancel a government contract. The three formal types of exchanges with a Contracting Officer. The differences between formal and informal exchanges. The different modes of contact with a Contracting Officer. The authority that a Contracting Officer has.
