EDA & MMTC Bringing Manufacturing Training Classes to Port Huron in 2026 - Registration Now Open
February 5, 2026
St. Clair County, Michigan – February 5, 2026
The Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County (EDA), in partnership with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), is pleased to announce that registration is now open for seven highly regarded manufacturing training courses coming to Port Huron throughout 2026. Bringing MMTC training directly to St. Clair County allows manufacturers to upskill their workforce locally, reduce travel costs, and give employees access to industry‑leading instruction that supports operational excellence, productivity, and long‑term business growth.
Manufacturers across Michigan continue to face rapid technological change, evolving customer demands, and a competitive global landscape. Workforce development has emerged as one of the most critical factors in a company’s ability to innovate and grow.
“Investing in employee training doesn’t just improve individual skills—it strengthens the entire organization,” said Bruce Seymore, EDA’s Vice President of Business Services. “Companies that prioritize continuous learning routinely see gains in efficiency, product quality, and employee retention. We’re excited to partner with MMTC to make these opportunities easily accessible for local employers.”
Hosting these classes locally is part of EDA’s broader commitment to supporting manufacturers and ensuring companies have the talent and resources needed to thrive. “Manufacturers consistently tell us that workforce skill development is one of their top priorities,” said Seymore. “By bringing MMTC training to Port Huron, we’re helping businesses build stronger teams, create more efficient operations, and secure long‑term growth right here in St. Clair County.”
