$1.24 Million Grant Helps St. Clair County Secure Ontario-based Axiom Engineered Systems

On March 24, 2022, the Michigan Strategic Fund awarded a $1.24 million grant to Ontario-based Axiom Engineered Systems, LLC. The company will bring operations to the Village of Capac in St. Clair County, Michigan and create up to 200 new jobs, paying an average wage of $25 per hour or more. Axiom plans to invest more than $13 million in its new U.S. operations. Axiom has been supplying U.S. customers from its production facilities in Ontario but has received additional contracts that will require an increase in production capacity.

Axiom plans to invest more than $13 million in its new U.S. operations. Axiom has been supplying U.S. customers from its production facilities in Ontario but has received additional contracts that will require an increase in production capacity.
In addition to state grant funding, the Village of Capac has offered to provide local support in the form of a real property tax abatement. The project will be the company's first production facility in the U.S. and the St. Clair County, Michigan, site location was chosen for the project over a competiting site in Ohio.
Axiom Engineered Systems, LLC, is a subsidiary of Ontario-based Axiom Group. The company specializes in thermoplastic injection of various components, including product design services, prototype development, manufacturing feasibility, and additional testing and validation services. Axiom’s customer base consists of automotive OEMs and suppliers in locations throughout Canada, Mexico and Italy.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation shared that the project will bring immediate advanced manufacturing jobs to the region and builds on the state’s work to position itself as the global leader in the future of mobility. The project also has the potential to lead to future growth and investment in Michigan.
