Position Overview
The primary functions of this position are to fill in for Route Drivers that are on vacation or are physically unable to perform their abilities. Other primary function is to work in the Service Department moving equipment internally within the Service Department, moving vending machines to and from customer locations, installing and setting up new machines at customer locations, refurbishing and cleaning machines, and to maintain the Service Department in a clean and orderly manner.
Summary of essential job functions
· Service vending machines, markets and office coffee stations at customer accounts
· Maintain cleanliness and order of company owned assets at customer locations: vending and OCS equipment (internal and external), market shelving, beverage coolers, condiment stands, etc
· Collect coins from vending machines, fill machines, and remove aged merchandise
· Learn and understand intricacies of accounts on multiple routes, take notes if needed, work with route drivers
· Drive truck in order to deliver such items as food, snacks, hot and cold drinks
· Record sales and inventory information by means of handheld computers, scanners, or other electronic devices made available
· Arrange products in machines in accordance with plan-o-grams or other instructions by management to promote efficiency and variety of products to be sold *Rotate Products*
· Check truck oil, water, gas and tires reporting any repairs to management
· Maintain cleanliness of truck, which includes the cab of the truck
· Listen to and resolve customers’ complaints regarding products or service
· Keep coin changers and dollar bill changers filled to capacity
· Inform management of any issues with products, customers and equipment
· Prepare and fill vending machines as instructed for customer delivery
· No extra product left in machines i.e. floor of snack machines, behind other products – product should be brought back to the warehouse
· End of the Day paperwork completed each day – includes counting the # of bags, how much petty was used, the total petty used and signing off of on the paperwork daily
· Move vending equipment with the aid of hand carts, piano movers, dollies, and hydraulic lifts
· Maintain accurate paperwork for receiving vending equipment, moves and installations
· Miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to: sweeping service department, helping in warehouse, cleaning warehouse, etc
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Competencies
· A chauffeurs license is required and an acceptable driving record as determined by Company policy and their insured
· DOT medical certification including negative drug screen
· Forklift Operator certification
· Physical ability to move 150 pounds of product with assistance of hand cart. Ability to lift 60 pounds of product without assistance
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
· Knowledge of basic math skills and their applications
· Active Listening giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and conveying information as necessary
· Use of logic and reasoning to draw conclusions and approaches to problems or situations
· Reading and writing comprehension to understand job and safety instructions both written or oral and ability to inspect dates for expiration and make decisions on rotation of products in machines and truck
· Must be able to reach overhead; reach for, handle or finger objects; extend arms in any direction, work with hands to hold, grab, turn and be able to place and remove items from shelves and/or machines
· Mental demands require the ability to formulate a logical thought process to interpret information received and display problem solving abilities within the scope of the job
· Clarity of vision of 20 inches or less; 20 feet or more, and 3 dimensional perception with the ability to judge distance and space
· Ability to communicate information and ideas in appropriate manner so others will understand
· Provide information to supervisors or coworkers by telephone, in written form, or in person
· Running, maneuvering, navigating or driving vehicles, computerized or mechanized equipment
· Must be punctual, dependable and able to work independently
· Must maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness and shall conform to good hygienic practices. Facial Hair; Close to the face and properly trimmed to managements discretion
· Hair must be neat and trimmed. All employees supplied with company uniforms will be so dressed with no substitutions or additions allowed
