Full job description

Shipping Clerk adheres to all safety requirements with respect to PPE (personal protective equipment safety glasses, hearing protection) and machine/equipment operation.

Experience on a hi-lo a must!

Proficient use of all scales.

Perform internal scale calibration at frequencies defined in work instruction.

Proficient use of all bar code software and label making printers.

Enforce that tare weights are utilized on all incoming and outgoing containers and bar code labels.

Helps the truck driver in loading containers for delivery.

All paper work is checked while loading any trucks for outbound shipments to ensure proper number of pallets, part numbers and quantities match the paperwork created by the SR Team Leader

Create hand written pick tickets at scale to log 1) OK to ship product 2) OK for out-process product

Fulfill orders utilizing Sage picking tickets for next shipping day. Pic tics will be handed out after the truck leaves for the next scheduled shipping day

Works with quality in final audit inspections and makes sure that the pic tics are signed off by quality before shipping.

Notify SR Team leader of any order not being filled.

Gives all hand written pic tics to SR Team Leader for creating shippers.

Shipping Clerk takes initiative to improve work area (suggestions) and department.

Maintain a clean work environment, assist in housekeeping efforts, including company vehicles and hi-lo's

Shipping Logs, folders are kept up to date and are filed correctly.

Must be cross functional in receiving duties. Helps receiving when needed.

Assist in inventory at the end of each month. Responsible for all product in shipping to be counted and logged.

Shipping Clerk must understand the Selective Industries Quality Policy Statement and how it impacts them.

Shipping Clerk must know the location of the document control center

Shipping Clerk must know that the location of the MSDS Books (Material Data Safety Sheets) are at the document control center and what they are.
