SEMCO - Regulatory Affairs Manager

As Manager, Regulatory Affairs, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping SEMCO's regulatory future. This isn’t just about compliance - it’s about influence. What You'll Do:

  • Translate high-level regulatory strategies into actionable plans and deliverables
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide timely analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align regulatory activities with business priorities and long-term goals
  • Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, testimony, and supporting documentation
  • Support senior leaders in settlement negotiations, technical conferences, and stakeholder engagements
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all regulatory submissions
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with commission staff, industry peers, and external partners
  • Represent the Company in regulatory forums and working groups, advocating for its positions with professionalism and credibility
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants to support regulatory initiatives
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Share best practices and regulatory insights across teams to strengthen organizational capability
  • Support the development of internal processes that enhance regulatory efficiency and responsiveness

What You Bring:

  • 4–8 years of experience in utility regulation, energy policy, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory filings, proceedings, and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with state commission processes and energy industry dynamics
  • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory issues into clear, actionable guidance
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on building relationships and delivering results
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Law, Public Policy, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
