Experienced Machinist – Mills & Lathes

BTM Company is a precision manufacturing firm serving demanding industrial applications. We’re looking for an experienced machinist who is comfortable running mills and lathes, reads prints confidently, and can step into a production environment without heavy hand-holding.
This role is best suited for a hands-on machinist who enjoys making parts, working with tight tolerances, and being part of a steady, no-nonsense shop.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate manual and/or CNC mills and lathes
- Machine parts to specification using blueprints, work instructions, and tolerances
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges
- Make minor program edits and offsets as needed (where applicable)
- Work closely with supervisors and teammates to keep jobs moving
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S mindset)
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on machining experience (more experience welcomed)
- Strong experience with mills and lathes (manual and/or CNC)
- Ability to read blueprints and hold tolerances
- Comfortable working independently once trained
- Reliable attendance and a steady work history
- Team-oriented attitude — willing to do the work, not just direct it
- CNC setup experience
- Familiarity with GD&T
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience in job-shop or low-to-medium volume production
- Afternoon shift availability
