We are seeking an experienced EDM Machinist to join our Marysville, MI facility. The EDM Machinist operates and maintains Wire EDM machines, programs operations in Mastercam, and ensures quality parts are produced to meet specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate Wire EDM machines.
- Program operations using Mastercam.
- Produce high-quality parts with a low scrap rate.
- Accurately use BTM’s ERP system for time clock and work order updates.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance (e.g., remove spent wire, monitor water levels).
- Report production issues and non-conforming products to management.
- Operate additional machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders) as required.
- Follow all company QMS requirements and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating Wire EDM machinery.
- Minimum 3 years of experience programming Mastercam.
- Ability to operate other machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders).
- Proficient with precision measuring tools; able to read and interpret part drawings.
- Strong math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).
- Excellent reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- MS Office Suite literacy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs, stand up to 90% of the day.
