What You’ll Do:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machines
- Machine small, high-precision medical device components
- Design and build fixtures and jigs for low-volume production runs
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
- Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in clean, organized condition
- Cross-train on multiple machines and products to support shop flexibility
- Communicate effectively with other departments
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of machining experience OR enrollment in a machinist apprenticeship
- CNC lathe programming & machining (3–4 years required)
- Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
- A passion for machining and continuous improvement
- This position requires strong reliability and consistent attendance to meet operational needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and machining fundamentals
- Experience with manual and/or CNC machines (mills and lathes)
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T and true position
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators)
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy, shop math, and trigonometry
- Computer skills including CAM software, email, and working in inches and millimeters
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (e.g., mill vises)
- Ability to handle 35-lb chuck jaws during lathe setup
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Operate multiple machines during setups and production runs
