Overview
This role is primarily shop-floor based and requires daily hands-on machine setup, prove-out, and live troubleshooting. This is the person who designs the cut and stands there while it happens.
Responsibilities and Duties
- · Machine precision details on multiple 3-axis vertical CNC Mills.
- Develop end-to-end machining strategies for prototype and low-volume R&D parts. Own machining strategy from CAD → CAM → first article. Select tooling, feeds/speeds, work-holding, and probing strategies
- Machine Operation & programming: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, generating programs, inputting programs, and selecting tools for specific cuts. Hold tight tolerances.
- Quality Control: Perform in-process checks, use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, ht. gage) to verify accuracy. Partner with engineering and quality during early part development
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to understand required dimensions and tolerances.
- Tool & Die Fabrication: Knowledge of how to build, fit, and assemble components for production tooling, dies, and fixtures.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and mathematical skills.
- All other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience, 5+ years CNC programming and machining
- Strong fixture design & work-holding experience
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Must be proficient on G and M code programming on FANUC control.
- Hours 5:30am-4:00pm Monday through Thursday
