K - 12 Education: Where Students Excel at Every Level
St. Clair County is a great place to live and work -- and it’s also a great place to learn. Academically, St. Clair County schools provide high-quality programs at all grade levels. They meet and often exceed state standards.
Our public education program features countywide Schools of Choice, giving parents and students access to 12 high schools, 43 elementary and intermediate schools, 11 public school academies, a technical education learning center, and a special education learning facility. Our public schools reflect a diverse mix of cultures, ranging from a mid-sized city environment in Port Huron to suburban and rural districts as well as charter schools.
Award-winning St. Clair County TEC provides career-focused programs for more than 800 students in a dozen specialties. In the past generation, it has produced a remarkable 37 national skills champions.
The innovative Blue Water Middle College Academy provides students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and a college associate degree at no cost by attending school for an extra year.

Higher Education: A Lifetime of Learning
We live in an age when learning never ends, and St. Clair County offers access to a truly outstanding community college as well as proximity to several of the Midwest’s finest research universities.
St. Clair County Community College (SC4), situated on a 29-acre, 10-building campus in the heart of downtown Port Huron, serves nearly 4,000 students. SC4 is ranked among the best of the nation’s medium-sized colleges in areas such as academic support, student services and percentage of degree completions. SC4 is a member of th Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), allowing students the transfer of credit(s) to four-year public colleges, and some private colleges in Michigan. The SC4 University Center on the Port Huron campus also offers students the convenience of completing a bachelor's degree close to home or online. A 19 to 1 student-to-teacher ratio allows students to work directly with instructors to receive a more personalized education. SC4's mission is to maximize student success.
