Port Huron’s vibrant Studio 1219, with five galleries and a pottery studio, is the largest public art facility in Michigan’s Thumb Region. Regional artists also exhibit in the gallery of the Alice W. Moore Center for the Arts in St. Clair.

The Port Huron Civic Theatre, founded in 1956, produces plays and musicals on stage at McMorran Place. The troupe is a year older than the International Symphony Orchestra of Sarnia and Port Huron, which consists of 55 musicians from both sides of the border.

Our county library system includes a main facility and 10 branch libraries, and we’re also home to an eclectic array of museums.

These include the actual train depot used by young Tom Edison more than 150 years ago, a reconstructed 19th century farming village, a museum dedicated to the ice industry in the era before refrigeration and a preserved Great Lakes lightship – think of it as a floating lighthouse.
